I have always wanted to visit a country during one of their national holidays, but my vacations have never really lined up quite right. However, I ended up being lucky enough to celebrate August 20th in Budapest for St. Stephen’s Day.
To say that Venice is a romantic city is as obvious as saying Athens is a great city to see old architecture. So it’s clear I’m not mentioning anything new here. However I believe cities that live up to their hype should continue to be hyped.
I remember the 1st time I saw a photo of Plitvice Lakes National Park. That image of numerous waterfalls spilling over a tree covered canyon forming turquoise pools looked too unreal to be from this planet.
Spending only a week in Boston’s Chinatown would not be enough time to scratch the surface of all the great restaurants in the area. However I would still like to give it another try.
Old Town Split might be one of the coolest Old Towns I’ve ever been to. It’s literally the inside of a palace. Doesn’t get much cooler than that.
