GOOD, OK, or SHIT – 7 BEACHES IN ULUWATU, BALI.
The west coast of Uluwatu ended up being one of my favorite places in Bali. It felt like there was a good mixture of people, food, and activities. There’s a wide variety of beaches to choose from also. During my stay I wanted to visit as many as possible to see which were the best.
A lot of people talk about Bali like it’s the greatest place in the world(it’s not).
One thing I find funny about that is how they fail to mention the overwhelming amount of plastic everywhere.
Indonesia is the 2nd largest plastic polluter in the world(behind China).
All that plastic ruined a lot of expectations I had for Indonesia.
I was completely surprised how so many “Instagram-worthy locations” I went to were actually quite shitty.
Good, OK, or Shit.
I was looking forward to Uluwatu and the many beaches to choose from.
So I took notes when I visited to see if they were actually Good, OK, or Shit.
Some beaches in Uluwatu have 2 names which can be confusing.
Especially when there’s 2 different Padang Padang beaches.
I’ve listed both names to help you Find or Avoid these spots.
Starting from the Northwest of the coast down to the South here’s my review of 7 beaches in Uluwatu:
TEGAL WANGI Beach.
LABUAN SAIT Beach/Pantai Padang Padang.
THOMAS Beach/Padang Padang.
ULUWATU Beach/BLUE POINT.
NYANG NYANG Beach.
There’s also a big chunk of boat washed up on this shore as well.
If you’re looking for a huge beach with few people, food, and only “some” trash than this is a good one to go to.
Maybe there’s some hope.
I visited these beaches during November.
Which means there were a decent amount of storms during that time.
That might have something to do with the amount of ocean trash in some of these areas.
So if you visit these beaches in June and they’re nothing like I described that might be why.
However, I’m sure there’s no luck for Balangan Beach.
That beach was absolute shit.
Have you explored many of the beaches in Uluwatu ? Which ones were your favorites?
